I mean, I would go down the list and think 'I make people laugh on a regular basis, I'm smart, I can be passionate and romantic, and I have a decent job....SO WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THESE WOMEN?!?!?!?'
It even got to the point where I found myself feeling somewhat bitter and twisted - I thought that I had everything women seemed to be asking for, yet none of them were interested.
It got to the point where I thought that all women must either be liars, plain stupid, or just didn’t know what they wanted.
Surely that was the only answer, when women were routinely saying they wanted one thing, but clearly going for something totally different?
Something was wrong - there was a missing piece in the jigsaw.

I decided that I couldn't go on my whole life being a woman-repellant. You may feel differently, but to me, it is such an important part of my life that I just had to get it handled.
So I set to work.
I became obsessed with learning everything I could about women. I bought every product I could get my hands on, listened to every webcast and even attended a real life seminar where some player calling himself 'badboy' took us all to a nightclub and forced us to approach one group of women after another.

Now I don't know about you, but stopping women in the street is not only terrifying, but there's a part of it that feels slightly creepy and weird as well.
Not only do you have the usual fear of rejection to deal with, you also have the fear of public humiliation, and the fear of arrest too!
Yes, I can truthfully say that this experience sent a very large, hearty shot of adrenaline right to my nuts. Jumping out of planes has nothing in comparison with the level of fear this experience provided.
It was probably right up there with going camping and unzipping your cosy tent in the morning to find a huge hungry grizzly greeting you for breakfast (his breakfast, that is).
All of this taught me a lot. Being smart, I was able to analytically assess the things that were working and the things that weren't.
I systematically dropped the losing tactics whilst keeping the winners - over time I became pretty good at meeting women in bars and nightclubs.
Finally, being smart was beginning to pay off where picking up women was concerned!
But, after yet another night out in my local club chatting up women, I had what drunks would call 'a moment of clarity'. I thought 'there must be an easier way'. (At this point, you may be wandering what the missing piece of the jigsaw actually was - I'll come back to that).
There IS an Easier Way
Let's be honest, meeting quality women in bars and nightclubs is a difficult experience at the best of times.
Nearly everyone is drunk for a start - even if they aren't, you're still struggling to hold a decent conversation with all the loud 'boom boom' music going on.
Then you have all the players in the bar that want to hit on your girl and steal her away - as well as her friends who are guaranteed to drag her away just at the moment when it looks like you're getting somewhere.
How many times have you heard a song come on, followed by a scream from a group of girls:
"OH MY GOD - I LOVE THIS SONG!!! WE HAVE TO DANCE NOW!!!…”
...immediately followed by a charge to the dancefloor.
Chick DancingIt's game over with the girl you just spent the last 20 minutes 'building a connection' with.
By the time she's finished shaking her booty, she'll have forgotten you even exist.
VERY Frustrating - even for the most patient of men. That damn 'Hey Ya' song by Outkast has robbed me of more sex than a nasty attack of scabies!
I also got sick of spending a fortune every week on beer and cover charges. And of course feeling rough as hell next day when I woke up with a stonking hangover.

So I experimented with other methods. I would try and initiate conversation in clothes shops by asking women their opinion on a jumper or pair of jeans.
I tried coffee shops, shopping centers - even parks in summer! I even visited a few art galleries in the hope of bumping into some gorgeous young girl, but my results were, at best, limited.
I tried all the pickup stuff - right from the stuff that encouraged you to be fake super nice in order to try and get into her pants (something I had already done for years with no success), all the way up to dressing up in ridiculous 'peacocking' outfits with bracelets all the way up my forearms and my sunglasses on my head, in a dark bar.
My 'routine' involved going up to groups of girls and asking them:
“Hey guys! Which looks better - A, B or C?”...Three Hot Chicks
...as I moved my sunglasses from my forehead, to covering my eyes, to off completely as I recited the letters A, B and C.
The routine reaction was one either of pitying amusement, or complete disgust. Generally girls would say 'C' in a tone of voice that said, in no uncertain terms, 'you are a giant penis-head' - or they would just ignore me full stop.
Actually, I might have had more success if I had dressed as a giant penis. The benefit of hindsight, eh!?
No matter where I went, the problems were always similar:
1. I had to find women I was attracted to
2. I had to have the balls to approach them (which is even more scary in the daytime when it's quiet, and everybody can hear what you're saying)
3. I knew nothing about these girls - I had no idea whether we would have anything in common until I went and spoke to them.

But then I struck gold.
Only One Thing Really Matters
It started to click with me after a while. Have you ever noticed how few really intelligent guys seem to have really hot girlfriends? Could it be that being intelligent actually hinders us in some bizarre way?
Let's go back to our list:
1. Sense of Humour
2. Intelligence
3. Passion
4. Romance
5. Financial Stability
Sounds unbelievable, but 80% (if not more) of the things that women really want in a man are actually are the same thing. They are simply "HOW YOU MAKE HER FEEL(including your intelligence).
So how does this apply to our list? Let's see:
1. Sense of Humour (you make her laugh - positive emotions)
2. Intelligence (you can connect with her core values - connection emotions)
3. Passion (feelings of intensity, excitement, intense horniness...mmmm I like that last one)
4. Romance (similar to passion)
5. Financial Stability (less emotional and more logical - but the only one on the list)
Basic rule of women (you can apply this to people in general as well):
"If she experiences better emotions when she is with you rather than when she is not, she will want to spend more time with you."

When I learned this life lesson and started to apply it, that's when I really started to attract people like crazy - not just women, but good friends, business partners, better jobs etc etc... This is by far the most simple, yet powerful thing I have ever learned.
It also explains why these self-pitying, 'poor me' characters are so repelling - because they are like a farmyard muck-spreader of negative emotions.
It also offers us a clue into why us smart guys often struggle with women. We are very good at being analytical - meaning we are fantastic computer programmers, accountants and nuclear physicists.
We are not so great however, when it comes to expressing our emotions.
Now I don't know about you, but when I hear the phrase 'express your emotions', I cringe and shudder slightly. I immediately picture one of those wimpy guys that cry at romantic comedies, or is self pitying 'my life is so bad, I'm so upset right now blah blah...'
Yuck.
You have my full permission to breath a sigh of relief - this is not what this is about. The last thing women want in a man is someone who can cry at 'Sleepless in Seattle' with them - they have a ton of girlfriends for that.
The Paradox
How many times have you heard women say that they want a man who can express his emotions, but they also want a man to be a man?
This one tied me up in knots for years:
“So you want a man who cries for no reason and tells you how much he loves cute ickle bunny wabbits...but you also want a man who drinks bourbon whisky straight from the bottle and fights grizzly bears for fun?”
Without going in too deep (because I could write a War and Peace sized novel on this), what women want in each of these is actually:
1) A man who can CONVEY emotion in the way he acts.
Think of someone like Gordon Ramsay. I know tons of hot girls who fancy him like crazy - yet you wouldn't describe him as a great looking guy by any stretch.
This is a man who has a real passion for not only what he does for a living, but life in general. Every word that leaves his lips full of excitement, passion and belief.
He's so excited by what he does that he can't stand still when he speaks - he's always jumping around! You can't help but be drawn in by a man like that. But he is also...
2) A man who is a man.
You couldn't imagine him bursting into tears for no reason. Despite being a man full of emotion (excitement, passion, drive - along with huge amounts of anger sometimes), he not a pushover.
This is the difference - most emotional guys appear weak, like if you said something that they didn't agree with even slightly, they would break down into a blubbering wreck.
And this is the major problem us intelligent, logical guys have. When was the last time you were totally drawn in by the passionate, exciting words of a computer programmer?
Hardly ever - of course there are exceptions, but 90% of computer programmers possess a dull, boring voice that never changes pitch.
Think about the way you talk - and be honest with yourself for a second.
Do your words convey passion, excitement and intrigue?
Do they draw in the listener and make them want to know more?

So I experimented with other methods. I would try and initiate conversation in clothes shops by asking women their opinion on a jumper or pair of jeans.
I tried coffee shops, shopping centers - even parks in summer! I even visited a few art galleries in the hope of bumping into some gorgeous young girl, but my results were, at best, limited.

Actually, I might have had more success if I had dressed as a giant penis. The benefit of hindsight, eh!?
No matter where I went, the problems were always similar:
